Sarah Dessen is an exceptional writer. Her characters have depth that is genuine and realistic. They are heartfelt and always moving ahead and pushing forward. Once and for All is wonderful with beautiful characters. The storyline is lovely and refreshing in every way. This book is classic Sarah Dessen style. Sweet, lovable characters, rom com laugh out loud dialog, and tear jerking moments with a happily-ever-after.

Louna Barrett is a girl that has had her heart broken and now she doesn’t like connecting with other people and doesn’t like commitment.  She works with her mother who is a famous wedding planner. Louna doesn’t believe in happily-ever-after’s or fairy tale relationships. That’s until she meets a boy named Ambrose. She then discovers there still might be hope for a true long lasting love.

I adored this book. I loved all the messy, hilarious, painful moments of it. It’s a beautiful coming of age story. It is a reminder to live life to the fullest through all of its ups and downs. It really gives the reader hope and courage for their present and future. The character development is wonderful. I loved Louna and her funny quirky family. I loved how Louna grew and matured and learned to trust again.

Once and For All is a true gem and a page turner. I read it through in one day and couldn’t put it down. It broke my heart and put it back together again. Sarah Dessen has a way of drawing readers in and holding them captive throughout the story. If you love Sarah Dessen, then you will love Once and for All. If you haven’t read any of Sarah Dessen’s books you must start with this one. You won’t be disappointed.
