Baby Settler: It’s Not Just About Sleep: Helping parents understand how feeding affects sleep and how sleep affects feeding.

Here’s the truth.
If you don’t understand how feeding affects your baby’s sleep, and how sleep affects your baby’s feeding, you will find that you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and lack confidence in your ability to know exactly what your baby needs. This is especially true for breastfeeding mothers.

Almost every breastfeeding mom I’ve met asks themselves one of these questions…
Is my baby getting enough?
If I bottle feed, will my baby sleep longer?
I want to breastfeed, but will my baby still sleep through the night if I do?

Hear this: You can breastfeed and have your baby sleep through the night.

Understanding how breastfeeding and “schedules” relate to each other is the key to getting your baby to extend her nighttime sleep.

I’m Hillary, the mama behind Baby Settler. I’m also a Registered Nurse and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who has devoted my career to helping mothers and babies. As a mom of three, I know the sleep-feed struggle is real. There is an abundance of information at our fingertips thanks to the internet, but many times the advice given is conflicting and one-sided. This can lead parents to feel like they must be doing something wrong because their baby isn’t following the book they’ve read or the recommended schedule they’ve found.

After spending over 10,000 hours working with breastfeeding mothers, I’ve combined my professional experience, personal experience, and the current evidence-based research to explain the “why” behind my recommendations for getting your baby (and you) sleep.

It’s my mission to help parents feel confident knowing what their baby needs, be able to establish a daily routine, navigate feedings whether breast or bottle, and get quality uninterrupted sleep!

When you don’t understand the relationship between feeding and sleep, you might feel overwhelmed, frustrated, and even angry that your baby is in an endless cycle of ineffective feedings and interrupted sleep. And you might start to feel guilt or anxiety because you find you’re not enjoying this season of life. It doesn’t have to be this way.

You can avoid [or break out of ] this cycle and feel confident knowing what your baby needs!

This book will give you the tools you need to navigate feedings confidently, have a routine you can plan your day around, and have a baby that sleeps “like a baby” at night! You can thrive in this season! You’ve got this!

Chick Lit Café Book Review:

Baby Settler by Hillary H Sadler is a must have book for all expectant and newbie parents!  Cutting through the thicket of anxiety and frustration, and presenting us with the tools to enlightenment and calm, the author comes alongside us with her experience and understanding as she shares her personal know-how and professional knowledge.

There is so much solid advice in this book that I hardly know where to begin!  I only wish that I had read this before having my first son.  I felt lost after he was born.  I didn’t know what I was doing and wondered why on Earth there wasn’t a college course on babyhood!  The author’s advice is so down-to-Earth, practical and relatable that I wanted to hug her as I read her words.  Not only is the book sensible, but the points are also scientifically backed-up.  Hillary’s ‘structure – routine – sleep’ advice is practical and makes sense.  The settled baby method of feed – wake – sleep is amazingly simple to put into practice, and while acknowledging that every baby is unique, this is a step-by-step for all new mothers to having a happy baby.  The result will hopefully be a baby that sleeps through the night, which is obviously an important goal as most people do not function well on little sleep.  In this book you will find solid and proven advice presented in a realistic way.  Baby Settler is a treasure chest of information and covers breastfeeding, swaddling, burping, and starting solids, allergies, choking and pacifiers to name just a few.

Hillary H Sadler obviously has a heart to help people, for she pours her years of experience and wisdom into this friendly, easy-to-read guide to help new mothers settle into their brand-new life with their babies.  Hillary is not only a mom herself but a nurse and a lactation consultant and she really knows what she’s talking about.  I will be buying this book as a gift for anyone I know about to embark on the biggest adventure life can offer – that one called parenthood.  Baby Settler by Hillary H Sadler comes very highly recommended to all expectant and new moms by Chick Lit Café.
