Marrying The Heiress: An Enemies to Lovers Romance by Autumn Miller

Marrying The Heiress is a standalone, full-length enemies-to-lovers romance featuring a smoking hot guy, with plenty of heat, heart and a happily ever after.

Kate

I didn’t expect to inherit a multi-million pound estate – especially under dubious circumstances – but I’ve only ever wanted to be financially secure.

For years I’ve been cast out from my family, desperately scraping together a living, trying to find some self-worth in the process.

But the rightful heir – Will Dawlish – hates my guts.

A-Daw-rable Dawlish, the papers call him. Dee-Lish Dawlish.

I’d like to think we could be friends, allies even, but all he wants is his inheritance back.

And even though Will’s distractingly handsome, even though he’s adored by the country as a cricketing legend, he’s emotionally bankrupt.

Will

I just want my grandfather’s inheritance back. I’ve got big plans to realise, and Kate Parsons has utterly derailed them.

After pursuing her through my lawyers, I’m left with one brazen plan.

Marrying her is the only option.

It makes good business sense; the divorce will be clean and tidy, my finances restored.

There will be nothing romantic between us, because there’s absolutely nothing to like about Kate Parsons.

Not her lies, her mysteries, nor her blatant thievery.

And when she walks down the aisle towards me, I refuse to be moved by her graceful beauty.

I don’t want to notice her dazzling smile.

All I need to focus on is the next twelve months. Except, I also have to meet a stipulation of the pre-nup: consummating this marriage.

If you like your romances sexy, playful, and with guys in full possession of killer smiles, bods and moves, then buy this book!

The Rags to Riches books are a collection of steamy romance stories which can be read in any order, though reader enjoyment will be improved if you start with Marrying The Heiress.

 Chick Lit Café book review:

The surprising will of a deceased man pits the legitimate heir against the beneficiary in Autumn Miller’s riveting contemporary novel, Marrying The Heiress: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (Rags to Riches).

Following his death, William Dawlish’s will is read. He leaves his wealth to Kate, his underprivileged carer with a difficult past. To gain back his inheritance, William’s grandson, Will, a retired cricket legend, arranges a year-long marriage of convenience with Kate that is meant to end in divorce. To the public, Will and Kate’s union appears genuine but in private, the two remain wary of each other’s intentions.

The tension between the couple carries the plot. Will is suspicious of Kate. He watches her every move and tries to watch out for any manipulative behavior from her. Though physically attracted to Will, Kate despises his spiteful nature and cutting comments. The book’s pace is swift which makes the story even more engaging. William’s death is followed by the reading of his will. After an abrupt engagement, a hurried wedding is organized. Unexpected events also arise throughout the book such as a chance meeting between Kate and a former boyfriend. The story is told from Will and Kate’s point of view. The two-way perspective helps develop both main characters and portray their inner thoughts and motives. The style also helps capture their growth as a couple and as individual characters. As they continue to live together, Will’s attitude towards Kate gradually changes but he remains cautious. Kate also grows fonder of Will. The characters’ backgrounds expand the novel and they provide another aspect that draws the couple closer. Both come from dysfunctional homes and they are haunted by events in their younger years. They work on moving forward from their traumatic childhoods. As they discuss their backgrounds, they realize they have more in common than they initially thought.

This is a fabulous, engaging and innovative contemporary romance novel with compelling main characters. The captivating story follows the couple’s unexpected bond as they navigate their past and present lives.
