If you’re looking for a mysterious, slow-burn thriller with a supernatural edge, then you will absolutely love Moon Mountain by Jess Porto. It is a truly addictive, unique and incredible work of modern fiction filled with murder, intrigue, suspense, mystery and thrills.
Morgan Thomas is a clever college girl and part-time bartender who is just trying to do her best to finish school. But one night at a college party, strange things start happening. After a night of carousing, she passes out on her bed but wakes up with a view of the moon, lying on the forest floor. But this is only the beginning. She begins to have strange and terrifying dreams and continues to find herself waking up in strange locations. When a close friend dies mysteriously, Morgan suspects she had something to do with it. Members of Morgan’s best friend’s influential family also start behaving slightly out of the norm, and when a cute detective gets added to the mix, the plot intensifies.
The plot is meticulously thought out, and there are several clever elements that Jess Porto throws in to add even more interest and intrigue along with the mysteriousness and frequent thrills. Moon Mountain is in a word, “outstanding.” Jess Porto is an excellent writer with incredible talent for original and enthralling storytelling, creating unbelievable settings and scenes, amazing characters and a plot that is unlike any other. She not only has stellar ideas but executes them to near perfection. Moon Mountain is an extremely enthralling mystery thriller—it’s vying for the best mystery thriller fiction book of 2023.

About the Author
Jess Porto grew up in the Adirondack region of upstate New York and subsequently moved to a handful of other states, including Illinois, Iowa, where she graduated from high school and attended Iowa State University, then to South Carolina, Florida, and North Carolina.
Jess graduated from Southwest Florida College with an Associate of Science degree in interior design. After various positions in retail, construction, and design, she is currently the marketing director for her longtime employer in Florida and works from home in North Carolina, which allows her more time for writing.
