Nikki left home to escape the oppressively careful watch over her life. As a free spirit she wants to be outside with nature, experiencing everything she can… that is until she sees something she shouldn’t. Becoming entangled with a serial killer had never been on her to-do list! Life is turned upside down when her ex-fiancé turns up and starts to take charge of the case. Despite everything that happens, Nikki determines to keep fear at bay and live her life. Sometimes though—we need protecting. This book was a delight to read. It seamlessly combined a faith-based family drama with a very sweet romance and an utterly gripping suspenseful plot. Every single character, even minor ones, drew me in and contributed to the story in their own way. The author’s language flows with ease. Her acute observation of people comes through in her writing, allowing the characters to not only appear real and natural but to be likable.
Jessica Berg is an excellent storyteller, and I would definitely pick up the next in the series. Grace Through Fire has family at its heart, a heroine with a perfectly matched hero, and to top it off a thrilling murder mystery carrying it along.
