Chick Lit Book Cafe book review:
Girl on Fire by Eden Hart is a captivating read that will have you hooked from the first page. Your heart will race as the world plunges into an apocalyptic nightmare. It is filled with drama and suspense that steadily rises as the horror unfolds and starts to take its toll on humanity.
The story is very visual, as Hart’s descriptive writing transports you into her enchanting world. Through the eyes of Kassia, a charming young lady, we experience the highs and lows of being a teenager, making the story relatable. It has the essence of a teen TV drama mixed with sci-fi elements plucked from War of the Worlds. Perspective is shaped extremely well as our attention shifts from being concerned over personal dilemmas to worldwide matters. Although, readers remain grounded as they are enmeshed in a healthy amount of passion and romance throughout which is emotive with heightened anticipation due to the brilliant narration of the interactions and stimulating dialog between the characters creating excitement and expectation; the sensation of kissing a boy for the first time reverberates through the characters and reader. Electricity pulsating through the pages, captivating you as well – allowing the sense of being fully alive and human. Sentiment and concern for the characters – you’ll come to love and get to know – is intertwined into the story as humanity is presented with a merciless dilemma. The dystopian world pulls back the curtain, revealing fresh horrors and eroding the carefree harmony of civilization. But all hope is not lost in this gripping, The beauty of the Earth is still captured in sharp detail, but the reader sees Death casting its shadow over everything and coiling itself around all living creatures. When the red mist arrives, change is in the air and humanity will be put through its biggest test; no one is safe.
Eden Hart inserts a quiet hopefulness within this tale, with characters willing each other to survive and together they must prepare to fight for their lives for the sake of their future.
“Don’t go quietly into the deep night” is the underlying message that will encourage you and stir your heart to keep fighting, no matter what life throws your way.
You will be delighted, entertained and unable to stop reading Girl on Fire by Eden Hart which is a thought-provoking story full of twists and turns, mystique and romance. You will not want to put this book down. The ending is an incredible cliffhanger which leaves readers wanting and ready for more, which they will quickly find in book two, Ashes Falling: A Dystopian Sci-Fi Fantasy in the “Girl on Fire Book series.” And an incredible young adult, dystopian fantasy series that readers everywhere are talking about and recommending.
