Daisy Mae, Doctor, Author, WriterDr Daisy has worked for 30 years as a Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare *S&RH) specialist.
S&RH is all about women’s health – e.g. contraception, fertility, subfertility, gynaecology, STI’s,
abnormal smears, unplanned pregnancies, termination of pregnancy, difficult/highly specialised
contraception, and of course her special interest – Menopause. Daisy has run her own menopause
clinic for the past 8 years.
Daisy writes under the pen-name Daisy Mae, to help retain anonymity.
Since childhood, Daisy has been interested in writing. She has been on several courses in Creative Writing
and embarked on an MA in Creative Writing at Southampton University in 2014. Her first novel ‘Dating Daisy’
was published by Clink Publishing 27th July 2017.
Daisy chose this as a private publishing deal as she was considering retiring from clinical medicine and becoming a writer.
“At 55,” she said, “I didn’t have time to waste on the inevitable rejections and never sent the book to any publishers. For me, this was
a positive first choice – not a last resort. Often people don’t know or understand this.”
However, in February 2018 Daisy decided to part company with the publishers and publish herself on Amazon KDP.
‘Dating Daisy’ was then relaunched as a second edition. As part of the relaunch Daisy organised a new press release and for the Chick Lit Cafe
team to review her book. “This has been hugely beneficial, ” Says Daisy, “and all the reviews are on the Dating Daisy website – http://www.datingdaisy.net.
The reviews I have had through the Chick Lit team have been such a pleasure to read and given me a real boost.”

Daisy lives in the South of England, near Southampton, with her partner Edward. She has 3 grown up children.
She runs a book club “The Fabulous Book Club” with 7 friends, and puts some of these book reviews on her website. Daisy is passionate about Ballroom and
Latin dancing, and she and Edward dance regularly. There favorite dances are Foxtrot and Quickstep. Daisy is quick to tell everybody that dancing has completely changed her life.
“We’ve just been on Argentine Tango weekend in Bournemouth,” she told me, “and in a couple of weekend’s time we are off to a Strictly Come Dancing weekend to dance
with the Strictly stars!”
Daisy and Edward also sail, cycle, swim and enjoy Edwards’s speedboat in the Solent.
Although Daisy is winding down her clinical work, she writes medical web content for an online medical agency (Zava), and
does freelance medical writing. She is always happy to answer queries on her website about relationships, internet dating, sexual health
