Synopsis:

Aya

Coast is clear.  Now I can focus on helping my friend get into the drummer’s pants.

Or at least I think I can until I see six feet of sun-kissed skin, muscle, and the prettiest eyes I’ve ever seen walking towards us.

And then it hits me like a ton of bricks.

I’m flushed.  Frantic.  Fluttering like a hummingbird.  Lightheaded.  My knees are getting weak.  It’s all I can do not to whimper.

Pretty sure I know this feeling.  Pure, unadulterated lust.

I haven’t felt it in forever.

Good thing too.  It almost ruined me.

I look up at Shawn.  He’s completely lost in the music, the corner of his mouth turned up into a small smile, despite everything.

He looks down at me and winks.

I feel my face get hot and my palms are slick.  He’s getting sweaty.  I immediately picture him bare-chested again and feel that familiar throbbing between my legs.

Here it comes.  It’s official, I’m in lust with Shawn Kinney.

Which means that I have to get the fuck out of here.

Now.

Shawn

Aya has that perfect laugh.  Sweet, bright and genuine.  The kind of laugh I could listen to every day.  And there’s a smattering of freckles on her nose.  I’m such a sucker for freckles.

Stop it.  You can’t be thinking like that, I tell myself.  You’re fresh off of a breakup.  You can’t want someone new just yet.

Only, I definitely can.

Her eyes close.  Mine do too.

It feels so good to be touched.

To have a woman in my arms.

To have Aya in my arms.

Fuck, I’ve got to let her go before I fall in love with her.

I had no idea what I was in for when I invited the mysterious blue-haired girl to my party.

And I certainly didn’t expect this.

Review:

Say Yes: Shawn by Amelia Mae is a racy romance story filled with emotion and risqué moments and scenes. In it we have Aya, with an alluring laugh and everything a man would want in a woman. But she has a secret which will eventually be revealed to readers. Her secret has left her traumatized and unable to ever trust a man again. When she meets Shawn, everything changes as she falls hard for him. Shawn has recently gone through a breakup due to the band that he is in. Jealousy, distance and all that entails with being in a band while being in a relationship caused the break up. Now Shawn, although he is very attracted to Aya, fears that history will repeat itself. With all the emotional baggage they both carry, will their relationship move from friends with benefits to something more permanent and enduring?

Say Yes: Shawn by Amelia Mae is written very well with keen execution and creativity. The plot and storyline flow with ease and make a complete fulfilling story. It is exciting, engaging and brings up many familiar feelings that these types of relationships sometimes do. I couldn’t put it down and was captivated from the very first chapter. I could totally relate to Aya and Shawn’s relationship and all the things that they go through.

The characters in this book are amazing. They are well developed with distinct personalities and attitudes. Aya is a pole dancing instructor, while Shawn is a bassist in a band. They make an extraordinary couple. But, they both have a sense of fear when it comes to letting go and loving one another and making that full commitment.

Author Amelia Mae has constructed a one of a kind contemporary romance story that readers will fall in love with, especially the characters. This book is part of the Say Yes series, which all reflect upon different couples and their romance stories. This is the first book that I have read in the series, and I am definitely going to be reading the others.

Amelia Mae has proven herself to be an exceptional writer with unsurpassed creative ability. Readers love her books. Chick Lit Cafe highly recommends this one, Say Yes: Shawn, to all readers that love sexy romantic stories filled with raw emotion and that contains a satisfying, meaningful conclusion.
