After suffering from a terrible accident, Nora Pennington decides to start over and create a new life for herself. She picks up and moves to the quaint town of Miracle Springs NC. There, in the small town filled with quirky residents, she opens a small bookstore, Miracle Books. Individuals come to her to receive reading suggestions that will cater to their most inner personal needs. Miracle Springs is the place that folks, from all over, come to ease their pain. The natural hot springs and the town’s great food and other comforts help to bring healing and peace. When a businessman arrives asking for counsel, Nora is ready and eager to help him. But then, the unthinkable happens when the man is found dead on the railroad tracks. Deemed a suicide, Nora begs to differ, due to her quick conversation she previously had with him. Nora is shocked and decides to form a book club, The Secret, Book, and Scone Society, a small family of damaged women who must each reveal their deepest secrets, in order to join.
